For our family, the single-vineyard philosophy has always been very important. The leading wine regions of the world have classifications for their vineyards, Barolo or Burgundy for example. The French speak of a single vineyard wine as a "Cru", a wine with a sense of place.
We have several single-vineyard wines in our assortment. The grapes from these wines come from a specific and delimited area and they are also listed separately in the wine register.
The Consortium Alto Adige Wines has already started the discussion about single vineyards in 2015. Meetings were held at each wine-growing location to present the project, which was developed under the guidance of the Consortium together with local oenologists, winemaker, wine producers and external experts. The introduction of single vineyards makes it possible to combine the generic designation of DOC Alto Adige with an even more specific indication of origin. And to communicate it to the consumer.
We have also applied the denomination Riserva to all the wines in our Single Vineyards line. Riserva wines are aged for a longer period of time.
